Spyker is back! To unveil an 800 hp supercar at Pebble Beach

Dutch boutique automaker Spyker Cars is all set to reveal a new supercar after a long hiatus. The company will unveil the latest generation C8 Preliator at Pebble Beach on August 14, CEO Victor Muller revealed on social media.

While the exact details of the car haven’t been revealed, we know that chassis no. 270 is currently being hand-assembled at the factory, like all Spykers before it.

The new Spyker supercar is expected to be the latest iteration of the C8 Preliator that made its debut a decade ago. Back then, it was powered by a front-mounted 4.2-liter V8. According to Muller, the new car will also pack a V8 engine paired with twin turbochargers. It is said to deliver around 800 hp, allowing the car to reach a top speed of over 200 mph.

The brand has witnessed several ups and downs since it was revived by Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn in 1999. The company went bankrupt twice, once in 2014 and again in 2021. Last year, Muller and the trustee in the insolvency reached a final settlement, which allowed the automaker to take control of the company.
